When choosing the damper, two factors should be taken into consider, one is damper weight, the other is diameter of the cable. Considering all mainly factors of the OPGW fiber, such as Tensility, wind speed, landform…, and so on. Then make the decision of damper model. Choose of weight

Z=(T*M)1/2 academic formula: Z=(T*M)1/2

Meaning: Z means characteristic impedance of fiber, it decides the model of vibration.
When Z over 110, used the 4D-30 model. If not bigger than 110, use the 4D-20 model

T---18%-25% rated tensile strength of fiber(KN) M—the weight unit of fiber kg/km

11.5 Choose of Clamp Dia. Range(mm)

The clamp Dia. Range is the Dia.of fiber with doubled Dia.for preformed rods of Tension set(suspension set).If installed the armour rod, the clamp Dia.range will be Dia. of fiber with doubled Dia. of Armour rods.
